While the HALO Filtration Systems may be effective for treatment of well water it is vital that a well water quality analysis be provided for review and recommendation in to ensure that optimum results can be realized. Failure to provide a current well water report to HALO Water Systems for analysis and recommendation voids all warranties. All filtration systems contain other parts that have a limited service life. To prevent costly repairs or possible water damage we strongly recommended that the bowl or sump of all plastic housings be replace periodically: every 5 years for clear sumps and every 4 years for opaque sumps If your sump has been in use for more than the recommended period, it should be replaced immediately. Be sure to date any new replacement sump for future reference and indicate the next recommended replacement date.

Frequently Asked Reverse Osmosis Questions

How does reverse osmosis differ from standard water filtration?

Reverse osmosis in Elk Grove Village provides more thorough filtration than standard filters. While basic filters remove larger particles and some contaminants, RO systems use a semi-permeable membrane to remove up to 99% of dissolved solids, heavy metals, and other impurities that conventional filters miss.

How much water does a reverse osmosis system waste?

Modern RO systems installed by Stellar Plumbing in Elk Grove Village are much more efficient than older models. Typically, they use 3-4 gallons of water to produce 1 gallon of purified water. We offer high-efficiency systems that minimize waste while delivering exceptional water quality.

Where can I install a reverse osmosis system in my home?

Most Elk Grove Village homeowners install RO systems under the kitchen sink for drinking and cooking water. We also offer whole-house systems that purify water throughout your entire home. The best location depends on your specific needs and plumbing configuration.

How often do reverse osmosis filters need replacement?

For Elk Grove Village water conditions, pre-filters typically need replacement every 6-12 months, while the main RO membrane lasts 2-3 years with proper maintenance. Stellar Plumbing offers convenient filter replacement services and can set up a maintenance schedule for your system.

Will reverse osmosis remove beneficial minerals from my water?

Yes, reverse osmosis removes most minerals from water. For Elk Grove Village residents concerned about mineral intake, some of our systems include remineralization stages that add beneficial minerals back into your water after filtration, giving you clean water with improved taste.

Can reverse osmosis remove chlorine from Elk Grove Village tap water?

Absolutely! Reverse osmosis systems include carbon pre-filters specifically designed to remove chlorine and its unpleasant taste and odor. You’ll notice a significant improvement in the taste and smell of your Elk Grove Village tap water after installing an RO system.
